Celebrate Diwali in Mumbai with these 10 unique and exciting ways.
Mumbai is transformed into an amazing universe during Diwali in Mumbai, the stunning festival of lights. The streets, marketplaces, and people’s homes are all shining with festive decorations and traditional lamps, called diyas. Mumbai’s Diwali celebrations, as detailed in the linked article, are the ideal fusion of traditional customs and contemporary experiences. While family get-togethers and pujas are still treasured by all, many Mumbaikars are also opting for more environmentally friendly celebrations, such as burning lanterns in the sky rather than setting off firecrackers.
There are several ways to join in the fun around the city. You may see the symbolic Muhurat Trading at the stock exchanges or the magnificent light show over the Queen’s Necklace at Marine Drive. Customers adore Lokhandwala Market’s lovely, well-lit streets and the steep discounts seen in malls. There are enjoyable seminars on creating your own decorations and heritage walks for a more in-depth look at the culture. Naturally, no celebration would be complete without indulging in Mumbai’s speciality confections from well-known neighbourhood stores or taking in the homemade lanterns while strolling through the Kandil Gallis (Lantern Lanes).
